Accessibility Statement
Last updated: [05/02/2026]
At Middle of Nowhere, we believe the outdoors should be open to everyone, no matter their abilities. We’re committed to making our hikes, events, and activities as accessible as possible and providing a welcoming experience for all participants.
What accessibility means to us
Accessibility means making it easier for everyone to enjoy hiking and outdoor activities, regardless of physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities. This includes providing clear information, suitable support, and making adjustments where possible so everyone can take part safely and comfortably.
Accessibility adjustments for our activities
We strive to make our group activities inclusive and in line with UK equality and accessibility law, including the Equality Act 2010. Some of the steps we take include:
-
Providing detailed information about trail difficulty, terrain, and length before each hike
-
Offering alternative routes where possible to suit different mobility levels
-
Ensuring group leaders are aware of accessibility needs and can provide support
-
Using clear signage and communication during events
-
Allowing participants to bring mobility aids or assistance animals
-
Encouraging participants to discuss specific needs in advance
Partial accessibility
Some hiking routes or outdoor locations may be difficult for people with certain mobility, sensory, or health needs. In these cases, we provide information in advance so participants can make informed decisions. We welcome suggestions for alternative arrangements wherever possible.
Requests, issues, and suggestions
